This is part of the Iowa Innovation, Business, and Law Center's Fall 2022 Speaker Series, From Antiquities to Warhol: Exploring the Intersection of Art and Law.
Frye will explain why the art market is and always has been a market for securitized celebrity, and how the NFT market creates the potential for all celebrities to access this capital market.
Brian L. Frye is the Spears-Gilbert Professor of Law at the University of Kentucky College of Law. His scholarship focuses on intellectual property, especially in relation to art, artists, and the art market. He is also a securities artist, who creates conceptual art in the medium of legal scholarship, and the only law professor to sell his scholarship as NFTs.
