IBL Center Technology for Lawyers Series: Prof. Pam Samuelson: AI, Copyright, and Ownership Rights

Professor Pamela Samuelson (Berkeley) will be speaking on Artificial Intelligence, Copyright, and Ownership Rights.

The issue of who (if anyone) owns a literary, artistic, or musical work generated by a computer program has been around for more than 50 years. Until recently, that was not a real problem because no commercially significant outputs had yet been created.  But advances in AI technologies have renewed interest in this subject.  It is only a matter of time before courts will have to make some tough decisions about ownership of computer-generated works.  This talk addresses this tricky question: What should they do?

Please join us in Room 245 from 12:30-2 p.m.  Lunch will be available.
