The Iowa Intellectual Property Law Association (“IIPLA”) is offering a one-time, non-renewable scholarship to a current first- or second-year law student. Applicants must be in good standing, pursuing a J.D. degree at the University of Iowa College of Law and intend to practice intellectual property law in Iowa after graduation. One $2000 scholarship will be available to a qualifying Iowa College of Law student. In addition to the scholarship, the IIPLA will pay the registration fee and hotel expenses for the recipient to attend the IIPLA annual meeting on September 21, 2018.


To be considered for the scholarship, the IIPLA must receive a completed application by May 15, 2018. The IIPLA will name award recipients by mid-June 2018. Applications should be sent to Jessica Susie at


Though there is no minimum GPA or class rank required to apply for the scholarship, each applicant must submit a resume listing his or her overall GPA and class rank. Applicants must also submit their current law school transcript (unofficial is acceptable) and a personal statement.
